Job summary

First Solar in the United States is seeking a Wastewater & Recycling Technician I to operate recycling and wastewater/UPW processes, follow work instructions, install and qualify equipment, and troubleshoot day-to-day issues to improve safety, efficiency and performance.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with related experience or an associates/bachelor degree in a technical discipline, plus experience in industrial settings or wastewater treatment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related experience.
• Associates or Bachelor degree in technical discipline with relevant experience.
• Experience in equipment maintenance and process troubleshooting.
• Industrial wastewater treatment experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions.
• Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop a complete operational understanding of installed recycling and water treatment systems and equipment.
• Ensure recycling, wastewater treatment and ultra-pure water generation processes run on target per the process plan.
• Collect data relating to process control parameters and adjust as necessary.
• Analyze process data and implement corrections as needed throughout the shift.
• Respond to process control alarms by evaluating trends.
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day recycling and water treatment process and equipment problems.
• Participate in planned process experiments and report results.
• Perform standard tests to ensure proper operation of systems.
• Interface with internal associates and supplier reps to complete projects.
• Maintain records using databases and spreadsheets.
