Aerotek in Grandville, MI is seeking a Process Technician / Mold Tech to operate, set up, and troubleshoot plastic injection molding equipment. The role focuses on mold changeovers, start-ups, and process stabilization to support efficient production runs.

The position offers growth into broader technician responsibilities with increasing automation and robotics integration. First shift, permanent onsite role with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold changeovers, tear downs, and start-ups on plastic injection molding machines ranging from 55 to 950 tons (including Milacron and Niigata equipment).
• Use a hi-lo and overhead crane to safely set up and change over plastic injection dies, including positioning, securing, and removing molds.
• Change out dies, connect and disconnect water hoses and air lines, and verify proper routing and secure connections.
• Install and hook up end-of-arm tooling for robotics, ensuring compatibility and correct operation with Sepro or AEC robots.
• Ensure molds are properly locked in and secured in the press prior to running parts, following all safety and quality procedures.
• Support and perform first runs after changeovers to confirm proper setup, part quality, and process stability.
• Troubleshoot basic process and setup issues related to plastic injection molding, including machine settings, material flow, and part defects.
• Set up and adjust injection molding machines for production runs according to job specifications and work instructions.
• Handle and move materials, molds, and equipment throughout the open shop floor using appropriate material handling equipment.
• Lift and maneuver molds, components, and equipment up to 50 pounds regularly, and more when required with proper assistance or equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to housekeeping standards and safety protocols.

Job Description:

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
