Job summary

Evenflo in Ohio is seeking a Process Technician to support injection molding operations. You will perform mold changes, start-up and maintenance tasks, and ensure safety and quality standards are met across shifts.

The role requires at least 3 years of related experience, High School diploma or GED, and forklift proficiency. RJG training and robot experience are a plus; strong communication and teamwork are essential for mentoring and collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3 years related experience and/or training preferred.
• RJG Training (Not Required but desired) Decouple Molding.
• Some Robot Experience preferred (Whittman, Sepro and Yaskawa).

Responsibilities

• Observe and ensure safety, environmental and quality procedures in the department.
• Perform mold, color and material changes safely and promptly.
• Set-up and start-up molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and assist in resolving processing problems with injection molding.
• Relay product and quality information to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors and peers—written and verbal.
• Perform first shot inspections and confirm job is ready for production.
• Operate forklift (stand-up & sit-down) safely as required.
• Maintain clean working conditions and report safety hazards immediately.
• Complete all required paperwork and support supervision as needed.

Job description

• Observance of all safety and environmental procedures and ensure safe work practices within the department.


• Perform mold, color and material changes in a safe and timely manner.


• Possibly help Lead out when shorthanded with breaks, paperwork or drive lift if needed.


• Complete all required paperwork


• Lead 5S efforts, stress good housekeeping and safe work practices.


• Foster creativity, innovation and communications within the production team.


• Be a mentor to promotable employees.


• Troubleshoot and assist in resolving processing problems with injection molding.


• Set-up and start-up Molding Machines and auxiliary equipment.


• Relay pertinent product and quality-related information to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors and peers – written and verbal


• Perform first shot inspections and confirm job is ready for production.


• Verifies and monitors machine cycles.


• Identifies waste in the process and minimizes downtime.


• Maintains clean working conditions in assigned areas and reports any safety hazards immediately.


• Must be able to operate a forklift (stand-up & sit-down) safely.


• Transportation of raw materials and finished goods to and from molding area as needed for production.


• Perform miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.


• Include answering Operator, machine, or equipment alarms as needed.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or GED required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Three years related experience and/or training


• RJG Training (Not Required but desired) Decouple Molding


• Some Robot Experience preferred ( Whittman,Sepro and Yaskawa )

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Physical Requirements, Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach and move across uneven surfaces. Ability to stand most of the shift.


• Ability to recognize visual defects as defined by product specifications, knows what to do if recognized. Exercises discriminatory judgments, Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively.


• Must pass Evenflo’s forklift training and obtain License to operate forklift.


• Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the candidate will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
