Job Description: Process Technician I Mold Setter

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Process Technician I Mold Setter specializing in the Prototype or Production Injection Molding Industry.

Shift Times:

• 1st Shift: 6:00AM to 2:30PM (8-hour days) and 6:00AM to 4:30PM (10-hour days). Must be flexible to work until 4:30 when needed. (Monday – Saturday, half day on Saturday)
• 2nd Shift (Flexible Start): 2:30PM – 4:30PM to 10:30PM – 2:30AM. Varies between 8 and 10-hour shifts. (Monday – Saturday, half day on Saturday)
• 3rd Shift (Flexible Start): 9:30PM-11:30PM to 5:30AM-7:30AM. Varies between 8 and 10-hour shifts. (Monday – Saturday, half day on Saturday)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines to produce thermoplastic parts.
2. Monitor machines during operation to ensure quality and troubleshoot malfunctions or defects.
3. Inspect products for surface and dimensional accuracy using precision tools.
4. Complete first-off and last-off documentation.
5. Install, start-up, shutdown, and remove molds.
6. Set auxiliary equipment to baseline settings and maintain optimal operating parameters.
7. Adjust machine parameters within tolerance and document deviations.
8. Maintain mold cleanliness and proper material supply and drying.
9. Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication.
10. Monitor machine gauges and parameters for consistency.
11. Use hoists for mold handling and preheat molds as required.
12. Install EOAT and other attachments as needed.
13. Issue work orders and optimize processes to reduce scrap and improve throughput.
14. Communicate operational status and issues across shifts.
15. Review and sign off on shift communications, including Quality Alerts.

Equipment Brands and Tonnage: Cincinnati Milacron, Nissei, Hattians, HTM’s, JSW, Toyo, Krauss Maffei, Van Dorn, Ube, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Engle; 50 to 4000 Tons.

Compensation Range:

• Hourly: $30.00 to $45.00
• Time and a Half after 40 hours; Double Time on Sundays
