Job Description: Process Technician I Mold Setter

Position Summary for the Process Technician I Mold Setter:

We are seeking an experienced Process Technician I Mold Setter specializing in the Prototype or Production Injection Molding Industry.

Shift Times for this Position:

• 1st Shift: 6:00AM to 2:30PM (8-hour days) and 6:00AM to 4:30PM (10-hour days). Must be open to working until 4:30 when needed. (Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday)
• 2nd Shift (Flexible Start Time): 2:30PM – 4:30PM to 10:30PM – 2:30AM. Varies between 8 and 10-hour shifts. (Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday)
• 3rd Shift (Flexible Start Time): 9:30PM-11:30PM to 5:30AM-7:30AM. Varies between 8 and 10-hour shifts. (Monday – Friday & ½ day on Saturday)

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:

1. Set up and operate plastic injection molding machines to produce thermoplastic parts.
2. Monitor machine operation to ensure parts meet specifications; detect and correct malfunctions or defects.
3. Measure and inspect products for surface and dimensional accuracy using precision instruments.
4. Complete first-off and last-off documentation.
5. Install, start-up, shut down, and remove molds.
6. Set auxiliary equipment according to baseline settings.
7. Maintain optimal operating parameters; adjust as necessary and follow deviation procedures.
8. Ensure mold cleanliness and proper material supply and drying.
9. Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling machines.
10. Monitor machine parameters like temperature, pressure, and cycle times.
11. Operate hoists for mold handling and preheat molding tools.
12. Select and install end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) or other attachments.
13. Issue work orders for equipment or tooling as needed.
14. Optimize processes to reduce scrap and increase throughput.
15. Communicate operational status and issues between shifts.
16. Review and sign off on shift communications, including Quality Alerts.

Brand of Injection Molding Presses: Cincinnati Milacron, Nissei, Hattians, HTM’s, JSW’s, Toyo, Krauss Maffei, Van Dorn, Ube, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Engle.

Tonnage of Injection Molding Presses: 50 Tons to 4,000 Tons.

Compensation Range:

• Hourly: $30.00 to $45.00
• Time and a Half after 40 hours
• Double Time on Sundays
