Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for operations related functions and processes, including visual inspections, functional testing, cosmetic refurbish, repair and receiving/shipping of product.
• Create and maintain work instructions.
• Lead PFMEA to identify, evaluate and mitigate manufacturing risks across production areas with documentation and cross-team collaboration.
• Complete operation/time studies and use data for financial and capacity models.
• Educate staff on 5S and drive 5S compliance and continuous improvement audits on the floor to reduce waste and boost efficiency.
• Ensure BOMs and process flow routings are accurate and up-to-date.
• Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is required.
• Other job-related tasks as assigned.

Job description

Summary

Provides process technical support for all site functions and processes, including visual inspections, functional test, cosmetic refurbish, repair, and receiving/shipping of product. Specific tasks include creation and maintenance of work instructions, PFMEAs, operational risk assessments, operation/function time studies (feeding both financial and capacity models), 5S, and systems maintenance for bill of materials (BOMs) and process flow routings.

Standard hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm.

Detailed Description:

• Regularly provide technical support / guidance for operations related functions and processes, including visual inspections, functional testing, cosmetic refurbish, repair and receiving / shipping of product.
• Create and maintain work instructions
• Lead and facilitate Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify, evaluate and mitigate potential manufacturing risks across production areas. This includes maintaining documentation and collaboration with various teams.
• Complete operation / function time studies and use the data for both financial and capacity models.
• Educate staff on 5S, and drive 5S compliance and continuous improvement audits on the floor to reduce waste, eliminate hazards and boost team efficiency.
• Ensure systems maintenance for bill of materials and process flow routings is accurate and up-to-date.
• Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position.
• Other job-related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies:

• General knowledge of product process flows.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional team environment (Engineering, Quality, and Operations) including customer interface/communication.
• Knowledge of product quality requirements and quality improvement processes.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) strongly preferred.
• Ability to recognize problems in a process and propose solutions to address those problems.
• Ability to learn established quality and quantity requirements.
• Ability to analyze job functions/activities and make appropriate adjustments to optimize the function while meeting quality and safety objectives.
• Knowledge of personal computers (Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn and use applications specific to this area.
• Ability to maintain detailed, accurate and organized records.
• Strong knowledge of the setup and operation of specific equipment sets used in manufacturing processes.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Practical/Demonstrated experience with process documentation, Time Studies, 5S, and training.

Physical Demands:

• Duties of this position are performed in a manufacturing environment with occasional to frequent exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc.
• Duties of the position require periodic light physical effort and exertion including prolonged repetitive motions requiring manual dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination, sitting at workspaces, using tools and equipment, and moving and handling materials.
• Duties may require periodic heavy manual effort including lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
• Duties require extended periods of sustained visual concentration on detailed documentation and product assemblies.
• Above demands are carried out within the Company and statutory Health and Safety guidelines.

Experience:

• No less than three years' experience as a process technician or similar role, within a manufacturing / production environment.
• Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English.

Education:

• High school diploma/equivalency required; two years' college degree preferred.
