Senior Injection Molding Process TechnicianPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Senior Injection Molding Process Technician to lead process optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will diagnose complex equipment issues, mentor team members, and ensure safe, efficient manufacturing operations using scientific molding principles.Primary ResponsibilitiesTroubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve complex issues with molding equipment, robotics, automation, auxiliary equipment, and electrical control systems. Support mold maintenance (wiring, manifold cleaning, gate maintenance, and cavity polishing).Process Operations: Perform mold set-ups, process start-ups, color changes, and precise adjustments to optimize production safely and efficiently.Continuous Improvement: Develop and optimize manufacturing processes using scientific molding, SPC, and process monitoring. Lead initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction.Technical Leadership & Training: Train and mentor Process Technicians, Mold Setters, and production staff on best practices, troubleshooting, and safe operating procedures.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Quality, Tooling, Automation, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve technical challenges.Compliance & Documentation: Maintain compliance with QMS standards, safety regulations, and company policies while accurately documenting and reporting equipment or quality concerns.Key QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on injection molding processing and troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of mold design, hot runner systems, scientific molding principles, and material behavior/rheology.Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to use systematic, data-driven approaches (logic, mathematics, and statistical tools) to analyze problems and generate solutions.Communication & Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, basic computer proficiency (CIM), and a self-motivated work ethic to meet production goals.Physical/Schedule: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, as applicable.Preferred Technical QualificationsCertifications: Process Technician Level IV certification (or ability to successfully complete it within a required timeframe); advanced training such as Paulson, RJG Systematic Molding, DOE, or SPC.Defect Troubleshooting: Expertise in resolving molding defects including flash, shorts, splay, gas burns, bubbles, and voids.Advanced Systems Knowledge:Understanding of plastic flow, pack, hold, transfer methods, cure, and process decoupling.Experience troubleshooting hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, robotics, and auxiliaries (thermolators, temperature controllers, conveyors).Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, live voltage safety, machine controls, and schematic interpretation (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and tooling prints).Material Analysis: Ability to perform material moisture analysis and apply process data to improve product quality and capability.#INDNbd
