Position DescriptionJoin Applied Medical’s Manufacturing team as a Process Technician supporting injection molding processes. This hands-on role is critical for optimizing injection molding and related manufacturing processes that produce high-quality medical device components. Working closely with engineers and operators, you will troubleshoot, improve, and document processes on the manufacturing floor. This position is perfect for candidates with mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and an interest in growing their expertise in plastics manufacturing and medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
Find and fix problems in the manufacturing process.
Help improve injection molding and related processes.
Follow and document product testing and qualification steps.
Troubleshoot machines and adjust settings to keep them running well.
Assist with designing tools and fixtures using CAD software like SolidWorks.
Use basic data analysis to help control and improve processes.
Work closely with operators and engineers to maintain quality and consistency.
Hands-on manufacturing experience, preferably including injection molding or machining and production.
Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities.
Working knowledge of CAD modeling.
Familiarity with statistical analysis and interpreting process data.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, inclduing Outlook, Excel, Word.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
Genuine interest in medical device manufacturing and continuous learning.
Experience in medical device manufacturing or injection molding environment.
Background in polymer science, materials science, metallurgy, or heat treating.
Experience with furnace operations, heat treating, or metallurgy processes.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Exposure to electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems related to manufacturing.
