Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure, a CRH company, is seeking a Process Technician to maximize uptime of production machines and ensure product quality as per customer specifications. You will diagnose process issues, adjust materials, and implement minor machine changes in a fast-paced plastics/molding environment.

Responsibilities include initiating molding operations, troubleshooting bottlenecks, coordinating with maintenance, and recording adjustments to support continuous improvement and on-time

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience with processing plastic injection molding machines.
• Lock out/tag out authorization required.
• Experience with basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Initiates molding machines and ensures on-time production targets.
• Troubleshoots molding machine malfunctions with material/process adjustments.
• Records details of malfunctions and adjustments.
• Communicates raw material adjustments to material handlers.
• Conducts test runs to ensure machine alignment with quality standards.
• Changes machine inserts to match customer specs.
• Notifies Maintenance Technician of electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic issues.
• Identifies parts needing replacement and notifies supervisor.
• Assembles components under technical supervision.
• Performs analyses and recommends equipment/test method changes.
• Assists on-shift supervisor with operator assignments and cycle times.
• Assists Material Handlers with material issues.
• Writes simple robot programs and adjusts complex programs.
• Has basic knowledge of moving robots and EOAT maintenance.

Job Summary

The Process Technician ensures maximum uptime of production machines by diagnosing and addressing quality issues and variations from customer specifications due to molding machines, processes, materials, or operator interactions.

Job Responsibilities

• Initiates the start of molding machines and ensures proper functionality to support the on-time completion of production targets
• Troubleshoots molding machine malfunctions or bottlenecks that can be corrected by material changes or process adjustments
• Records the details of machine malfunctions and the appropriate adjustments as required
• Communicates and verifies necessary raw material adjustments to material handlers to improve production efficiency and accuracy
• Conducts test runs of process or machine adjustments to ensure proper machine functionality and alignment with quality standards
• Routinely changes machine inserts to customize product wording or labeling in accordance with customer specifications
• Notifies a Maintenance Technician of a machine electrical, pneumatic or hydraulic issue or problems that may require a fabricated solution
• Identifies parts or machines that need new parts or need to be replaced and notifies the supervisor
• Assembles new or modified mechanical components or assemblies under the guidance of a technical Manager
• Performs routine analyses and calculations, and recommends changes in equipment, products or test methods
• Assists the on-shift supervisor with assigning operators to machines and provides direction to Machine Operator as to machine cycle time and operating multiple machines at a time
• Assists Material Handlers with troubleshooting material issues
• Writes simple robot programs and makes minor adjustments to complex programs
• Has basic knowledge of moving different robots
• Has the ability to service and maintain End-Of-Arm Tooling (EOAT)

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Prior experience with processing of plastic injection molding machines required
• Lock out/tag out authorization provided by company
• Experience with basic hand and power tools
• Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, bending, stretching, using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and fit items
• Ability to lift up to 40lbs
