Job summary

Dover Corporation’s OPW facility in Conover, NC is seeking a Process Technician to support LPG valve production. You will set up and run assembly equipment, troubleshoot issues, and work with Maintenance, Engineering and Quality to ensure safety and quality standards.

You will train team members, monitor workflows, and help meet daily production metrics while maintaining a safe environment. This on-site role operates 4pm–12:30am, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience using measurement and inspection tools, including calipers and gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Machine setup and changeovers for assigned assembly equipment.
  • Operate equipment to support production requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues.
  • Ensure proper tooling, materials, and components are production-ready.
  • Support production workflow and coordinate resources with Team Leads.
  • Train and coach employees on equipment operation and safe practices.

Requires the ability to work overtime as needed.SCOPE:The Process Technician supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of LPG valve products through machine setup, operation, troubleshooting, and process support. This role serves as the technical expert for assigned equipment, works closely with Team Leads to support daily production priorities, and provides training and guidance to team members. Process Technicians help identify and resolve operational issues, support continuous improvement efforts, and ensure adherence to established quality and safety standards.K EY RESPONSIBILITIES:Machine Setup, Operation & TroubleshootingPerform machine setup, changeovers, adjustments, and startup activities for assigned assembly equipment.Operate equipment as needed to support production requirements.Monitor machine performance, identify issues, and perform routine troubleshooting to minimize downtime.Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve equipment, process, or product concerns.Ensure proper tooling, materials, and components are available and production-ready .Identify equipment wear, damage, or abnormal conditions and escalate concerns appropriately.Production Support & Workflow CoordinationPartner with Team Leads to prioritize production activities based on customer demand, order status, and production schedules.Support efficient deployment of assemblers by aligning skills and resources to production needs.Monitor workflow and communicate production risks, delays, or resource constraints.Help ensure daily production metrics are updated on LDM boards and goals are achieved while maintaining safety and quality standards.May serve as the backup to Team Leads in their absence.Quality, Process Improvement & TrainingRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.Inspect products and processes using gauges, calipers, and other measurement tools to ensure conformance.Ensure proper containment and documentation of nonconforming materials.Train and coach employees on equipment operation, standard work, quality requirements, and safe work practices.Serve as a technical resource by sharing knowledge, supporting problem-solving, and promoting cross-training.Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.Communicate when work instructions, procedures, or documented processes require updates or clarification and support implementation of approved changes.Teamwork & CultureFoster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment built on collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.Build positive working relationships across departments and with employees of diverse backgrounds and experience levels.Communicate effectively and professionally to support teamwork, problem-solving, and operational success.Q UALIFICATIONS:RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment.Experience operating , setting up, adjusting, or troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.Experience using measurement and inspection tools, including calipers and gauges.Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Basic computer proficiency , including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.PreferredExperience in automated assembly, valve manufacturing, machining, or related manufacturing environments.Experience training or mentoring employees.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, or Six Sigma principles.Experience using ERP, MES, or shop floor management systems.This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.We consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.
