Job summary

OPW in Elon, North Carolina, is seeking a Buyer to support daily production requirements. You will work with the Operations Planning community to ensure world-class customer service and on-time deliveries across multiple locations.

The role requires 3–5 years of manufacturing purchasing experience, ERP proficiency, and the ability to read engineering blueprints. This is an on-site position with a Monday–Friday first-shift schedule and potential for a discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer savvy with ERP, Excel, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.
• Self-driven, results oriented with strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Day to day procurement activities to ensure on-time deliveries and inventory levels.
• Purchase a wide array of items using ERP and monitor supplier performance.
• Improve supplier performance by tracking cost, quality, delivery, and lead times.
• Resolve pricing and receiving discrepancies with vendors and accounts payable.

This position partners with Operation’s Planning community to successfully execute the business plan to provide world class customer service. The scope of this role will increase as business priorities emerge and grow with RegO.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Day to day procurement activities to ensure on time deliveries, inventory levels and supplier relationship management.Responsible for independently purchasing a wide array of inventory items using ERPImprove supplier performance by monitoring quality, cost, delivery, and inventory metrics.Assure replenishment parameters are maintained by purchasing to support customers and inventory management and optimizationWorks with suppliers for improvement opportunities in terms of cost, quality, delivery and lead timeResolve pricing and receiving discrepancies with vendors, coordinate with accounts payable departmentREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, logistics, quantitative fields or equivalent work experience.3-5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.Computer savvy: Knowledgeable with ERP, Excel, MS Office Suite, etc.Ability to read engineering blueprints and understand manufacturing processes.Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
