Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection molding presses and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot injection molding machines and adjust processes.
• Perform mold and machine setups, including water lines, fittings, hoses, hydraulic connections, knockout rods, and clamps.
• Adjust molding processes to optimize cycle times, quality, and production efficiency.
• Conduct mold and tooling tryouts and assist with bringing new or repaired tools into production.
• Inspect tooling and perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with operators on materials, work instructions, and current revision information.
• Run production through first-piece approval with Quality.
• Verify correct materials for production runs.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow procedures.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Technician / Process Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on injection molding experience who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, setting up molds, improving production processes, and working closely with operators and the production team.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and resolve molding and tooling issues quickly and safely.

What You'll Do:

• Set up and operate injection molding presses and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot injection molding machines and make necessary process adjustments.
• Perform complete mold and machine setups, including:
  • Water lines, fittings, and hoses
  • Hydraulic connections
  • Knockout rods
  • Mold clamps
  • Other required setup components
• Adjust molding processes to achieve optimal cycle times, quality, and production efficiency.
• Conduct mold and tooling tryouts and assist with bringing new or repaired tools into production.
• Inspect tooling and perform basic tool repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Work closely with operators to ensure they have the correct:
  • Packaging materials
  • Work instructions/prints
  • Current revision or release information
• Run production through first-piece approval with Quality.
• Verify that the correct materials are being used for each production run.
• Monitor production and communicate quality, safety, equipment, and production concerns to the Molding Manager.
• Provide direction and support to production staff as needed.
• Accurately complete daily production reporting.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Participate in job-related training and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with other manufacturing and production responsibilities as needed.

What We're Looking For:

• Previous injection molding press operation experience is required.
• Hands-on experience with molding machine setup and troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work comfortably with tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Blueprint/technical drawing experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing production needs.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work overtime and different shifts when needed.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Frequent reaching, bending, and working around manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely perform the job.
• Moderate and variable noise levels.
• Variable temperatures depending on the production area.
• Safety-focused workplace where proper use of equipment and PPE is expected.
