Job summary

BD is hiring a Process Specialist to operate and maintain equipment in the production of medical devices. You will ensure efficient operations, meet production targets, and maintain product quality, while participating in team activities and continuous improvement.

The role involves afternoon shift (2nd shift) from 2:45 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, with on-site work at USA UT - Sandy. A high school diploma or equivalent and up to 1 year of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

  • EH&S and safety awareness required.
  • Basic computer knowledge and data entry.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes and GMP.
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Basic math skills for process monitoring.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and GDP.
  • Ability to manage issues and document results.
  • Strong time management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain high-speed manufacturing equipment.
  • Set up equipment changes and monitor processes.
  • Respond to machine faults and restore operation.
  • Participate in autonomous maintenance and 5S.
  • Maintain clean, safe workspace and GDP records.
  • Communicate problems and changes promptly.
  • Support root cause analysis and Kaizen events.
  • Attend start-up meetings and safety briefings.
  • Comply with BD safety and quality policies.

Job Description

As a Process Specialist , you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machines/equipment used in the production of medical devices. Your primary role will be to ensure the efficient and smooth operation of the equipment to meet production targets and maintain product quality. Participates in all team meetings, activities, team building initiatives, and operational excellence activities.

**Schedule: Afternoon shift (2nd shift) 2:45 PM-1:00 AM Monday-Thursday**

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Certify to operate multiple processes or grouping of equipment on high speed automated or semiautomated manufacturing equipment.
  • Participate in all equipment changeovers or set-ups.
  • Monitor assigned processes to ensure high quality production.
  • Respond to machine faults and restore to normal operation
  • Participate in autonomous maintenance to maintain assigned equipment/area
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality is required per the BD attendance policy
  • Maintain equipment and a clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment.
  • Maintains an open line of communication to ensure all problems/changes are communicated and resolved in a timely manner
  • Maintains accurate records as required following good documentation practices (GDP)
  • Participate in root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues as needed
  • Participate in tier 1 shifts' start-up meetings, 5S, and Kaizen events
  • Follow all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures including RCRA Hazardous waste regulations
  • Follow all local BD quality policies, procedures, and practices through consistent application of sound quality assurance principles.
  • Support and maintain a safe working environment including the submission of employee safety observations (ESO)
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to get along with people and work in a team environment
  • Willingness to rotate into different tasks and responsibilities as needed
  • Ability to train other associates as needed
  • Ability to identify production issues and clearly communication to support functions
  • Willing to work overtime as needed

Required: High School Diploma or relevant equivalent experience, or 1-year relevant work experience.
