Job summary

Kelly Engineering in New Castle, DE is seeking a Process Safety Specialist for a leading client in the specialty chemical industry. The role focuses on maintaining OSHA PSM and EPA RMP compliance and leading hazard analyses.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in chemical processing, a BS in Chemical Engineering, hands-on PHA/HAZOP, MOC, PSSR, and experience with PHAST; CSP is a plus. This position requires strong risk analysis and pressure-relief expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of process safety experience in chemical manufacturing or specialty chemicals.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA PSM and EPA RMP compliance.
• Hands-on leadership of PHA/HAZOP, MOC, PSSR and audits.
• BS in Chemical Engineering (preferred) with process risk analysis skills.
• Experience using PHAST or similar software; CSP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the site's Process Safety Management program and compliance.
• Conduct PHA analyses and manage corrective actions.
• Lead Pre-Startup Safety Reviews for new or modified equipment.
• Administer the Management of Change process and track actions.
• Perform PSM audits and maintain EPA RMP and prevention programs.
• Serve as process safety expert for SHE initiatives.
