Kiewit Corporation is seeking an Engineering Intern for the Design Engineering team in Houston. This role offers exposure to oil, gas, and chemical projects, with opportunities to learn codes and standards and contribute to safety-driven designs.

The internship emphasizes teamwork, skill development, and flexible work arrangements, preparing you to support large-scale energy projects across North America.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Fire Protection.
• Knowledge of process safety concepts including source model, toxic release and dispersion models, fires and explosions, fire protection, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
• Available to work full-time during the summer.
• Able to adapt to varying workloads and meet deadlines with guidance.
• Clear and effective written and oral communication; works well in teams.
• Seeks guidance from senior team members and maintains open communication across groups.

Responsabilités

• Performs basic calculations under supervision and seeks guidance from a senior engineer.
• Assists in identifying problems and reporting them to a supervisor.
• Learn codes and standards to complete assignments and interpret procedures.
• Takes on non-routine technical tasks of limited scope with supervision.
• Presents findings to senior leadership and communicates clearly.
