2027 Process Safety (Chemical Engineering) Co-op

BakerRisk provides comprehensive consulting, engineering, laboratory, and full-scale facility testing services to government agencies and private companies who are involved with hazardous operations or materials.

Dates Of Employment For 2027

• Spring/Summer Term: Monday, January 11th at 9:00 a.m. CST – Friday, August 20th at noon
• Summer/Fall Term: Monday, May 10th at 9:00 a.m. CST – Friday, December 17th at noon

Full time: 40 hours per week

Location: Houston, Texas

Duties And Responsibilities

Assist Project Managers and apply standard engineering/ scientific techniques using procedures and criteria assigned by technical staff. Perform routine engineering calculations, assist at test range facility, conduct research, prepare presentations and report material and CAD drawings. Gain experience in Loss Prevention Engineering, Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), Qualitative Process Hazards Analysis, Reliability Engineering, Risk Management, Consequence Analysis, and Frequency Analysis.

Requirements

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a minimal 3.0 GPA in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. Junior or Senior level student. Proficiency in MS office suite. Ability to learn engineering software as needed to perform specific tasks as assigned by engineers. Excellent oral and written communication skills required to interact with internal and external contacts. SCHEDULE

• Time dependent, Co-ops usually get a chance to visit our test facility near San Antonio to observe a demonstration for jet fire or vapor cloud explosion testing.
