Job summary

Prysmian, Taunton, MA, is seeking a Quality Inspector to safeguard excellence on the manufacturing floor. You’ll lead inspection and testing to defined parameters, identify non-conformances, and translate data into action to reduce scrap and improve product quality.

With a focus on metrology and process control, you’ll collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to implement CAPAs and preventive actions, uphold safety, and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong communication and data-driven problem solving.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection methods and metrology.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specs and quality data.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead problem-solving to reduce scrap and improve productivity using data-backed guidance.
  • Inspect and test products to defined parameters and verify dimensions.
  • Refine testing, inspection, and procedures; update quality control plans.
  • Investigate issues with cross-functional teams; collect data and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure process controls are in place and effective against standards.
  • Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and ensure on-time metrology activities.

Pay Range

$30.43 - $36.02

How you’ll make it happen
  • Proactive quality leadership: Lead problem-solving that reduces scrap and improves productivity; address daily quality concerns with confident, data-backed guidance.
  • Inspection mastery: Inspect and test products to defined parameters; verify specified dimensions; examine for cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.
  • System refinement: Assess testing, inspection, and operational procedures; build and revise quality control plans and systems.
  • Root cause to resolution: Investigate issues with Operations and Quality teams; collect data, analyze trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Process control discipline: Partner with operations to ensure controls are in place and effective against standards.
  • Metrology stewardship: Maintain accurate, on-time inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring equipment.
  • Containment you can count on: Identify, quarantine, and communicate non-conforming product immediately.
  • Capability building: Lead training in quality control and operations to lift team performance; perform other related duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
  • Talent for uniting teams around a shared vision and orchestrating continuous change to achieve long-term goals.
  • Ability to unpack complex business/technical problems and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Fluency with regulatory requirements and technical documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; standout organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Self-starter with a strong record of initiative and follow-through.
  • Knowledge of plant and role-specific safety policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and SAP.
  • Above-average math and reasoning; comfortable with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Experience with micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, OD tapes; mechanical testing competence.
  • Ability to lift product, materials, and equipment as needed; ability to read and write English.
  • High School diploma/GED plus proven manufacturing experience.
