Job summary

Role Description

The Process Plumbing Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA. This role is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining process plumbing systems associated with semiconductor wet benches and chemical delivery equipment, following engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include routing and connecting piping and tubing, performing leak checks and pressure tests, verifying proper flow and connections, and ensuring systems meet safety and quality standards. The technician collaborates with engineering, production, and service teams to support equipment builds, system start-ups, and field modifications, while documenting work performed and maintaining organized, compliant work areas. The role may also involve assisting with customer installations, supporting equipment commissioning, and providing feedback to improve designs and procedures.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues in process plumbing systems and associated equipment.

Hands-on experience in:

• Fabricating and installing PVDF, PFA/PTFE, PP, PVC, and CPVC process-piping systems.
• Plastic welding and joining: butt fusion, socket fusion, extrusion welding, heat-gun welding, infrared fusion, and flare/compression fitting work.
• Ultrapure water (UPW/DI), chemical-delivery, drain/waste, exhaust, or wet-process equipment.
• Reading isometric drawings, P&IDs, plumbing layouts, fabrication drawings, and bills of materials.
• Pipe routing, measuring, cutting, fitting, support/hanger installation, leak testing, pressure testing, flushing, and documentation.
• Semiconductor, cleanroom, laboratory, pharmaceutical, water-treatment, chemical-processing, or industrial equipment backgrounds.
• Safe handling practices around acids, caustics, solvents, and chemical-process systems; cleanroom discipline is a strong advantage.
• Experience with industrial or semiconductor process piping (e.g., PVDF, stainless steel, fluoropolymer tubing) and chemical handling systems is highly beneficial.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs, and to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Prior experience in semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or similar process industries, and a relevant technical diploma or equivalent hands-on experience are preferred.
