Job summary

EGC is seeking experienced pipe fitters in Newport, KY for process/utility piping systems in the Food & Beverage and Pharmaceutical industries. You will read blueprints, lay out and install piping, and perform maintenance on process equipment.

Requirements include OSHA 10/30, knowledge of piping systems, HS diploma, and ability to travel within 50 miles; willingness to travel to other states is a plus. Emphasis on safety and teamwork, with varied weather conditions expected.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10/30 certification required.
• General knowledge of piping layout and routing.
• Knowledge of general piping systems.
• Combination fitter/welder is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; candidates must have transportation and good communication skills.
• Be willing to work within a 50-mile radius; willingness to travel to other states is a plus.
• Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and P&ID’s.
• Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains process and utility piping systems.
• Inspects work site to determine obstructions and determine proper pipe path clearance.
• Cuts pipe using saws, pipe cutter, cutting torch and pipe cutting machine.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs to process and production equipment.
• Perform planned maintenance, inspection and installation on process and production equipment.
• Follow job site safety and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work area. Identify safety hazards and protect self and others.
