Job summary

Primient in Illinois is seeking a chemistry engineering student to join our team, learning safety and operation through on‑shift shadowing with technicians. You’ll assist experts in troubleshooting process flow and unit operations, while owning an assigned area to monitor performance and implement improvements.

You will conduct process data analysis, benchmarking, and small-scale programming to identify trends, supporting project execution and vendor coordination to drive safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• BSc in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with expected graduation Dec 2026 or May 2027.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of basic chemical unit operations.
• Internships or related experience helpful but not required.
• Complete 2–3 months of on-shift shadowing with technicians.
• Willingness to work in Primient facilities and possibly serve as shift supervisor during development.

Responsibilities

• Learn to operate safely within manufacturing facilities through on-shift shadowing.
• Assist subject-matter experts in troubleshooting and improving process flow and unit operation functionality.
• Own and optimize an assigned process area by monitoring performance and identifying inefficiencies.
• Conduct process data analysis, benchmarking, and small-scale programming to identify trends.
• Support project execution, system enhancements, and alignment with safety, quality goals.
• Manage and install capital projects from initiation to completion under supervision.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to facilitate project progress and installations.
