Job summary

kdc/one in Groveport, Ohio, is seeking a Process Optimization Engineer to improve manufacturing performance, advance automation, and drive continuous improvement across batching, fluid transfer, CIP, and utility systems.

You will lead process controls optimization, manage projects from concept to completion, and collaborate with R&D to implement batching improvements that enhance product quality and efficiency. A bachelor’s in engineering and 5+ years in manufacturing are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in a production/manufacturing environment; FDA-regulated experience preferred.
• Experience with PLCs, especially Rockwell/Allen-Bradley.
• Knowledge of CIP and high-purity water systems is a plus.
• Strong analytical, design, calculation, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Optimize process controls and automation for raw material handling, batching, CIP, and fluid transfer.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems to maintain operations.
• Partner with R&D to test and implement batching improvements for quality.
• Manage engineering projects from concept through completion within scope and budget.
• Develop and implement SOPs, and create PFDs and P&IDs.

kdc/one is seeking a skilled Process Optimization Engineer to improve manufacturing performance, advance automation, and drive continuous improvement across our batching, fluid transfer, and utility systems. What You’ll Do

• Optimize process controls and automation for raw material handling, batching, purified water systems, clean-in-place (CIP) processes, and fluid transfer operations.


• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability.


• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems to maintain reliable manufacturing operations.


• Partner with R&D to test and implement batching improvements that enhance product quality and process performance.


• Manage engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring scope, budget, and timelines are met.


• Develop and implement automated processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.


• 5+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment; FDA-regulated experience preferred.


• Experience with PLC systems, particularly Rockwell/Allen-Bradley.


• Knowledge of high-purity water systems and clean-in-place (CIP) processes.


• Strong analytical, process design, engineering calculation, and troubleshooting skills.


• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
