Job summary

Scientific Protein Laboratories (SPL), a world leader in biosourced pharmaceuticals, invites applications for a Process Operator- Solvent Recovery in Waunakee, WI. This role supports pancreatin, heparin and CDMO/Scientific Affairs production schedules and ensures regulatory compliance for all activities.

The operator will handle distillation equipment, solvent transfers, and routine maintenance, following cGMP and GDP standards while maintaining safe, clean work areas on the 1st shift (6 am–6

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Experience: none required, 2 plus years preferred
• Ability to use person protective equipment as required
• Schedule: 1st shift: 6 am- 6 pm. Wednesday, Thursday and every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Operate all distillation equipment, peptone evaporator, and titration equipment per SOPs and cGMP.
• Follow SPL safety practices and GDPs and coordinate solvent transfers.
• Fill tankers with concentrated peptone and pancreatin fat and schedule dispatch with contract hauler.
• Perform minor maintenance of equipment as required.
• Adhere to established work schedules in a consistently reliable manner.
• Perform duties and deliver work products on a dependable and timely basis.
• Recognize potential production problems and hazardous situations and report incidents.
• Departmental scheduling and daily planning to support production workloads.
• Initiate work orders for repairs and troubleshoot moderate to complex problems.
• Daily inspection of equipment and work areas; maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Act as primary contact for contract haulers.

JOB SUMMARY

SPL is an innovative biopharmaceutical leader with unique products and services supporting the pharmaceutical industry globally. For over 40 years, SPL specializes in the development and cGMP compliant manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). SPL has an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Process Operator- Solvent Recovery.

This position is responsible to safely perform all basic departmental duties, under general supervision, to support Pancreatin, Heparin and CDMO/Scientific Affairs production schedules. Maintain regulatory compliance for all activities. Develop functional knowledge and common mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting/resolving operational problems and disruptions. Gain full understanding of all regulatory/safety issues directly related to the handling and transfer of all departmental associated bulk solvents.

Responsibilities:

• Operate all distillation equipment, peptone evaporator, and titration equipment per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Follow all SPL safety practices and procedures and use Good Documentation Practices (GDP's). Coordinate all solvent transfers to proper locations and/or storage tanks. Fill tankers with concentrated peptone and pancreatin fat and schedule the dispatching of those tankers with the contract hauler. Perform minor maintenance of equipment as required.
• Adhere to established work schedules in a consistently reliable manner.
• Perform job responsibilities and deliver work products on a dependable and timely basis.
• Recognize potential production problems and hazardous situations and follow proper procedures to correct and/or report the incident/situation.
• Departmental scheduling and daily planning to support production department work-loads.
• Initiate work orders for necessary repairs to equipment. Troubleshoot/resolve moderate to complex operational problems to ensure proper functionality of department and all related equipment.
• Daily inspection of all departmental equipment and work areas to ensure safe operating conditions. Maintain cleanliness of all work areas. Keep all outside work areas free of snow, ice and debris. Also keep all containments free of water.
• Primary contact for contract haulers.
