Job summary

Valero is hiring a Process Operator at the Albert City Ethanol Plant in Iowa. You will operate and monitor the production process on a 12-hour rotating shift, ensuring safety and quality. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments and participation in efficiency projects to reduce costs.

Starting wage is 27.75 USD per hour with a 2 USD night shift differential and a 4,000 USD sign-on bonus. On-site work with comprehensive benefits and overtime eligibility are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• On-site, in-person work at Valero Albert City Ethanol Plant required.
• Associate degree in Process Technology preferred.
• Experience in a dry-mill ethanol plant is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control plant operations.
• Review plant operation to monitor production and quality, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in projects to improve efficiency or reduce operating costs.
• Document and monitor process variables, sample data and routine tasks.
• Participate in QA/QC programs, interpret results and take action as needed.
• Communicate with all departments to ensure safe, efficient daily activities.
• Monitor and troubleshoot process issues and equipment.
• Perform scheduled Operations Work Requests as requested by Supervisor or Plant Management.
• Prepare equipment to ensure it is safe for maintenance or contractors.
• Follow safe work practices and participate in safety/environmental programs.
