Job summary

Valero is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Operator at the ethanol plant in Charles City, IA. This full-time, on-site role requires operating and maintaining corn receiving, storage, and loading processes on a 12-hour rotating shift.

You will unload corn from trucks and railcars, load ethanol and distiller’s grains, take samples, and keep scale house records while working with rail service and plant equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.

Responsibilities

• Unload corn from trucks and railcars.
• Load ethanol into trucks and railcars.
• Load distiller’s grains into trucks, railcars, and containers.
• Take samples of corn, ethanol, and distiller’s grains for testing.
• Operate scale house; weigh trucks, enter data into scale house software, issue paperwork to drivers.
• Operate meters and bulk weighers to facilitate product loading.
• Operate locomotive or rail mover to move railcars on plant site.
• Operate front-end loaders and related material handling equipment.
• Participate in safety programs (LOTO, Safe Work Permit, FSMA).
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks and routine housekeeping.
