Position Overview

The Process Operator for Calabrian in Port Neches, TX is responsible for operating, monitoring, and controlling process equipment to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable production of quality products. This position supports daily plant operations by maintaining process conditions, performing product handling and shipping activities, collecting process data, and adhering to all safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Safely operate and monitor plant equipment and processes to meet production, quality, and operational goals
  • Take and record process data, including pressure, temperature, flow rates, and other operating parameters
  • Read, interpret, and follow operating procedures, plant instructions, and standard operating guidelines
  • Operate process equipment utilizing manual, pneumatic, PLC, and DCS control systems
  • Monitor process conditions and make operational adjustments to maintain efficient production
  • Collect and analyze process samples to verify product quality and support process control activities
  • Load and ship products via railcars and tank trucks
  • Receive and unload raw materials and support product transfer operations
  • Perform railcar receiving, switching, and related logistics activities
  • Connect and disconnect process and utility hoses while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Handle, package, and transfer hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with company procedures
  • Participate in equipment preparation, chemical breaks, vessel entries, and maintenance activities following established safety procedures
  • Operate mobile equipment, including forklifts and other material-handling equipment
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report process or equipment issues to supervision
  • Monitor product quality and support continuous process improvement efforts
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Comply with all company safety, environmental, and operational policies and procedures
  • Support plant operations through additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical, industrial, manufacturing, refinery, petrochemical, or process plant environment
  • Knowledge of chemical process safety principles and safe work practices
  • Strong understanding of industrial equipment, operations and personal protective equipment requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other team members
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions and operating procedures
  • Ability to work safely in a physically demanding industrial environment
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators, hard hats, safety glasses, acid suits, and steel-toed boots
  • Ability to lift, climb, carry, reach, walk, and perform other physical requirements associated with operating a processing facility
  • Ability to work overtime, respond to call-outs, and support 24-hour operations as required
  • Commitment to maintaining a strong safety and environmental culture
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Process Technology
  • Previous experience operating PLC and DCS control systems
  • Experience loading and unloading railcars and tank trucks
  • Forklift operation experience
  • Experience in sulfur dioxide, chemical manufacturing, or other continuous process operations
