Job summary

SoTalent is seeking a Process Operator to work in an industrial setting. You will manage material handling, equipment operation, waste processing, and inventory movement while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities include unloading materials, blending for fuel reuse, following procedures, inspecting equipment, and supporting maintenance to maintain production flow. This role requires flexibility to work in varied conditions and adhere to PPE requirements.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year in heavy manufacturing or production operations.
  • Experience in industrial environments preferred.
  • Must be able to wear extensive PPE and work indoors/outdoors.

Job description

Are you experienced working in manufacturing, industrial processing, or heavy equipment operations? This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic industrial environment where safety, operational excellence, and environmental compliance are critical to success.

As a Process Operator, you will be responsible for material handling, equipment operation, waste processing, inventory movement, equipment inspections, and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to established procedures.
  • Process and blend materials for fuel reuse purposes.
  • Follow all operating procedures and permit requirements.
  • Ensure proper handling, movement, and storage of waste materials.
Material Movement
  • Safely transport materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain awareness of material compatibility and handling requirements.
  • Support efficient production flow and operational continuity.
Equipment Operation
  • Bobcats / Skid Steers
  • Remote-Controlled Agitation Cranes
Equipment Inspections
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections.
  • Report mechanical issues and operational concerns.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in safe operating condition.
Routine Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance on designated equipment as assigned.
  • Support preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Assist maintenance personnel when required.
Tank & Container Management
Fuel Quality Waste Tank Services
  • Inspect customer portable fuel quality waste tanks.
  • Clean and recondition tanks when required.
  • Verify equipment condition and operational readiness.
  • Maintain quality and compliance standards throughout the process.
Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
Safety Leadership
  • Promote a strong safety culture in all work activities.
  • Follow established safety policies, procedures, and operating requirements.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
PPE Compliance
  • Utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including:
  • Safety Glasses
  • Gloves
  • Tyvek Suits
  • Respirators
  • Supplied Air Respirators
  • Additional Protective Equipment as Required
  • Follow Systech policies, permits, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal procedures are followed.
  • Support compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Facility Operations Support
Production Assistance
  • Support other operational areas when necessary.
  • Adapt to changing operational needs and facility requirements.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Ensure processing areas remain safe and efficient.
  • Follow housekeeping standards and operational best practices.
Documentation & Communication
Reporting
  • Complete operational reports as required.
  • Document inspections, production activities, and operational issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs.
Communication
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members.
  • Report operational problems and safety concerns promptly.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in:

Driver's License
  • Valid driver's license required for operation of applicable equipment.
Respirator Requirements
  • Must be able to wear required respiratory protection equipment.
  • Employees required to use respirators must remain clean-shaven where the respirator seal contacts the face to successfully complete qualitative and quantitative fit testing.
Flexibility
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and emergency shifts when operational needs require.
