Job summary

ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals in Crosby, Texas, is seeking a Process Operator to safely and efficiently run toll manufacturing processes and support systems at our facility. This role ensures compliance with company procedures and local, state, and federal regulations while supporting production operations and environmental stewardship.

The Operator will follow SOPs, troubleshoot equipment, document safety and production data, and monitor processes with DCS/HMI.

Qualifications

• Process technology degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of manufacturing/chemical process experience preferred.
• Batch processing or batch production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow and adhere to SOPs and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment issues, perform minor repairs.
• Complete safety, environmental, and production documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain safety training certifications and participate in safety programs.
• Safely handle raw materials and finished products with proper PPE.
• Read batch sheets and verify material availability before production.
• Monitor processes using DCS/HMI and log data.
• Enter operating data in digital and manual records.
• Collect samples and communicate laboratory results as required.
• Collaborate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and support continuous improvement.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

The Process Operator supports production operations, quality control activities, material handling, and process monitoring while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Job Responsibilities

• Follow and adhere to all standard operating procedures and established work instructions.
• Troubleshoot process upsets, operating issues, and equipment problems, including minor repairs and equipment isolation for maintenance activities.
• Complete all required safety, environmental, production, maintenance, and shipping documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain all required safety training certifications and participate in scheduled training meetings and safety programs.
• Safely load, unload, and transfer raw materials and finished products while following proper handling procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Read and understand batch sheets and blend recipes and verify raw material and packaging availability before production activities.
• Monitor production processes using Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems, log sheets, and logbooks.
• Enter and maintain accurate operating data in digital and manual records.
• Collect process samples, perform basic quality control testing, and communicate laboratory results as required.
• Communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and other facility employees regarding process conditions and operational issues.
• Perform routine housekeeping activities to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence efforts.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Process Technology degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant manufacturing, chemical plant, or process operations experience preferred.
• Batch processing or batch production experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Proficiency with computer systems and process control technologies used to monitor and operate production processes.
• Strong mathematical skills and the ability to accurately calculate process and production data.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds between floor and waist height.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and climb ladders throughout the facility as required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Willingness to participate as a member of the facility emergency response team.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
