Ingredion is seeking a dedicated Process Operator to safely manage the manufacturing of raw materials and finished products at our Cedar Rapids plant. You will operate equipment, monitor processes, and ensure product quality while maintaining efficient operations in a continuous facility.

The role supports inventory control, loading/unloading, and packaging procedures, with emphasis on safety and GMP practices. Overtime and rotating shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to work in a team with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and data-sharing skills.
• Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• SAP experience is a plus; forklift certification or ability to obtain it is required.
• Knowledge of GMP and Food Safety is a plus.
• Forklift experience or certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanized equipment safely and efficiently within specifications.
• Monitor operation from the control room when applicable.
• Sample and test products to ensure quality.
• Prepare railcars and trucks; load/unload as needed.
• Pack, inspect, and manage inventory of bags, totes, and drums.
• Perform tasks with varying physical demand; move hoses and clean equipment.
• Handle movement of chemicals as appropriate.

The Process Operator will be responsible for the manufacturing and handling of raw materials and/or finished products at the plant. Safely operating equipment in the assigned area while maintaining a high degree of quality for our products and working as efficiently as possible for our continuous operation facilities.

What you will do:

• Operating mechanized equipment safely, efficiently, and within specifications. Troubleshooting, inspecting, and fixing issues that arise with equipment as applicable. Identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement.
• Monitoring the operation from the control room on computers, if applicable
• Sampling and testing products
• Preparing railcars and trucks; loading and unloading trucks, railcars, and bags, as necessary
• Packing, inspecting, and dumping bags, totes, sacks, or drums, and mainteining inventory.
• Performing tasks of varying physical demand such as moving hoses and cleaning equipment, filling tanks or transferring products as necessary
• Handling movement of and working with chemicals as appropriate

Who you are:

• Someone with ability to work in potentially loud and in strong odorous environments, different physical environments, or in various weather conditions
• Must be able to move about in the processing areas and be able to do the following: lift and carry 50 pounds, stand and walk for sustained periods; climb stairs and ladders; bend; reach; push; pull, enter tanks, and wear harness

Position type and expected hours of work:

Full-time position, be willing to work any day of the week, an off shift and/or rotating shifts as applicable or assigned. Overtime may be required.
