Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Greenville, SC is seeking a qualified candidate to provide technical direction to engineers. This role requires extensive experience in mechanical and chemical engineering, along with a strong background in design and project coordination. The successful applicant will work on construction document reviews and Piping and Instrumentation Diagram development, contributing significantly to engineering projects. Qualifications

• Minimum of fifteen years of experience in relevant engineering fields, preferably nuclear.
• Working knowledge of codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design.
• Professional Engineer License preferred.

Job description

Provide technical direction to assigned engineers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction document reviews as required.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate process / mechanical engineering and multi-disciplined team / design projects during the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects including project startup.
• Prepare and review calculations and specifications relating to Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development.
• Demonstrate design experience in areas such as, but not limited to, mechanical systems and equipment design.
• Generate and review the accuracy of design / evaluation calculations and specifications.
• Be familiar with computer-aided drafting applications.

Basic Job Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience (nuclear preferred) in design, estimating, specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
• Must have a working knowledge of federal (including Department of Energy Orders), state, and local codes and standards applicable to mechanical engineering design.
• Professional Engineer License preferred, but not required.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
