Job summary

Brown and Caldwell is seeking a Process Mechanical Engineer to join our Design Services National Mechanical Discipline team. The ideal candidate will contribute to process mechanical design for water and wastewater treatment, piping systems, aeration, pumping/hydraulics, and pipe supports for industrial water projects.

The role spans design through construction-phase support, coordinating with architects, structural, electrical and controls engineers, and guiding BIM efforts to produce 3D models

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of process mechanical engineering or related experience.
• Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams.
• Preferred 4+ years in pumping, water/wastewater equipment, aeration, piping, and technical specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of simple process-mechanical elements.
• Prepare calculations for piping and equipment per project requirements.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive solutions.
• Direct BIM professionals for 3D models and contract drawings.
• Review construction submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Provide site observations during construction for simple elements.
• Mentor junior team members.
