Job summary

BrainWorks is seeking a Process Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift in a regulated manufacturing setting. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and improve processing equipment and utilities to ensure reliable operations and compliance.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience with industrial processing equipment, and familiarity with preventive maintenance in cGMP environments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree or technical/trade school preferred in electromechanical fields.
  • 3–6 years of industrial equipment maintenance experience.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades on manufacturing equipment and facility utilities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot water systems and facility utilities (compressed air, steam, water distribution).
  • Inspect equipment and document maintenance activities accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering and other teams.
  • Ensure safety procedures (LOTO, PPE) are followed during maintenance.
  • Support continuous improvement to improve reliability and production performance.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and shutdowns as needed.

Process Maintenance Technician, 2nd Shift

Our client is a growing organization operating in a highly regulated manufacturing environment. The Process Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing process equipment and facility utility systems. This role will play a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, supporting production, and maintaining compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on maintenance professional with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience working with industrial processing equipment, facility utilities, and preventive maintenance programs. Experience in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrades on manufacturing equipment, facility utilities, and associated systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot purified water systems, ensuring reliable operation and compliance with applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain facility utility systems, including compressed air, steam, water distribution, and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot liquid processing and blending equipment to support production requirements and equipment performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process‑control issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, safety, and production performance.
  • Perform equipment inspections and identify potential failures or maintenance requirements before they impact production.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with established safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and hazardous‑material handling requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and timely maintenance documentation, including work orders, preventive maintenance records, repair documentation, and safety reports.
  • Ensure documentation and maintenance activities comply with cGMP, data integrity, and company quality requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other functional teams.
  • Prioritize and schedule maintenance activities based on production requirements and equipment criticality.
  • Participate in equipment installations, upgrades, shutdowns, and facility improvement projects as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during equipment troubleshooting and operational issues.
  • Participate in emergency response and after‑hours troubleshooting when required.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical or trade school education, or an Associate Degree in electromechanical technology, industrial maintenance, electrical technology, or a related discipline, preferred.
  • 3–6 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and industrial process equipment.
  • Working knowledge of purified water systems preferred.
  • Experience in a cGMP or similarly regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, specialty chemical, food, or other regulated manufacturing environments is a plus

Familiarity with the following is preferred:

  • Purified water systems

  • PPE and industrial safety practices
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to diagnose complex equipment and control‑system problems.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities in a production environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to changing production and maintenance priorities.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, or other non‑standard hours when required.
