Job summary

CHT USA is seeking a Process Engineer in Cassopolis, MI to design, develop, and optimize safe and sustainable processes using LEAN/Six Sigma principles. You will partner with R&D, safety, quality, and production to improve process reliability and capacity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering, 1–3 years of process engineering experience with project management focus, and familiarity with PSM and hazardous materials handling. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• 1-3 years of process engineering with a project management focus
• 1-3 years of experience in chemical blending (emulsion manufacturing and/or silicone manufacturing)
• Experience with PSM programs and safe storage/handling/disposal of highly hazardous chemicals

Responsibilities

• Work with R&D to direct process improvement projects for current production and new product development.
• Coordinate with safety, quality, regulatory, and production teams to ensure safety and sustainability of processes.
• Review existing manufacturing lines and plan cost-effective production processes for scale-up.
• Plan and conduct product and process improvement experiments.
• Oversee maintenance activities in line with business strategy.
• Execute change management including documentation and training for startups and transitions.
• Oversee external contractors for project completion when needed.
• Manage department capital projects to meet cash flow and strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with finance to track spending and capitalize assets accurately.
• Support SOP creation, implementation, and sustainability.
• All other duties as assigned
