Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking an Associate Process Improvement Engineer onsite in Carroll, IA.

You will drive high-impact initiatives across manufacturing and operations, leveraging engineering, data analytics and lean principles to streamline processes, improve product quality, and reduce costs. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and leadership to embed a culture of operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles preferred.
• Currently enrolled student with anticipated graduation by end of current school year is considered qualified.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization: evaluate plant efficiencies and optimize processes using data-driven methods.
• Lead Kaizen events and Value Stream Mapping to deploy lean principles.
• Data analysis and root-cause problem solving to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering and leadership to sustain improvements and drive cost reductions.
