Job summary

The Judge Group seeks a Process Improvement Engineer for its Massillon, OH facility to drive improvements across production and packaging lines. You will work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Product Management to ensure standards are consistently met.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience (3-7 years in regulated manufacturing).
  • BS from an accredited college/university preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Knowledge of food/beverage manufacturing processes, CIP systems, and industry standards; packaging line experience a plus.

Location: Massillon, OH Salary: $80,000.00 USD Annually - $100,000.00 USD Annually

Position Description

The Process Improvement Engineer works cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Product Management to drive improvements across production and packaging operations, reducing variation and losses while improving overall system efficiency. This role is centered on two goals: better and more consistent. The engineer will partner closely with plant teams to ensure formula, process, and packaging standards are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Activities, Projects, and Processes
  • Schedule, coordinate, communicate, and verify continuous improvement activities across the plant
  • Steer plant performance toward current product and packaging specifications
  • Identify and drive improvements in processing, packaging, and sanitation standards
  • Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing and packaging line efficiencies, reduce waste, and optimize production processes while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance
Lead Plant Continuous Improvement of Product Quality & Process Standardization
  • Audit manufacturing and packaging operations to ensure processing and sanitation standards are met
  • Participate in product grading and monitor quality trends
  • Evaluate grading and quality trends against current targets
  • Work with processing and packaging teams and Product Management to recommend formula and parameter changes
  • Develop data analysis to highlight opportunities for improvement
  • Support plants in solving critical production or product quality issues as needed
  • Document the "why" behind procedural and equipment specifications for training and reference
  • Audit processes to ensure practice matches documented standards
  • Design, prepare, and execute trials to solve manufacturing, packaging, and product science unknowns
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications And Requirements
  • Education and Experience (3-7 Years in Regulated Manufacturing Environment)
  • BS from an accredited college/university preferred, or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge of food/beverage manufacturing processes, CIP systems, and industry standards; packaging line experience a plus
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong curiosity and self-driven learning
  • Understanding of manufacturing unit operations (e.g., thermal processing, filtration, packaging/filling operations)
  • Experience with data analysis and statistical process control
  • Strong technical writing and math skills
  • Excellent verbal communication across departments and facilities
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet optimization tools/solvers a plus
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking ability
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence departments across the organization
  • Strong analytical aptitude
