Job summary

SIFCO Industries in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Process Engineer to lead process work instructions, safety improvements, productivity and quality adherence, especially within the New Product Introduction process.

The role collaborates across Design Engineering and Quality to drive ISO, AS and NADCAP compliance, implement corrective actions, and advance department training while reducing costs. Bachelor's degree required; 1st shift; full-time position.

Qualifications

  • Use CI methodologies to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Improve and maintain process control systems with other departments.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for variability reduction.
  • Create and maintain standard work procedures; train others.
  • Partner with supervision to build and maintain department training.
  • Lead CI to improve safety, productivity and equipment utilization; reduce costs.
  • Develop and implement CAPEX requests for equipment and facility improvements.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering and Sales on NPI efforts.
  • Work with Quality and Engineering on ISO, AS and NADCAP compliance; plan audits.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and vendors to drive cost improvements on supplies and inventory.
  • All other duties assigned.

  • Improve and maintain process control systems by working with all departments
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions as required to drive variability reduction with customers and suppliers
  • Create, maintain, and improve standard work procedures and effectively communicate / train to instructions. Ensure instructions are readily available for use
  • Partner with Supervision to create, facilitate and maintain department training
  • Lead Continuous Improvement efforts to improve safety, labor productivity and equipment utilization while reducing costs
  • Develop and implement Capital Expenditure requests for equipment and facility improvements that enhance department performance and / or reduce cost
  • Partner with Design Engineering and Sales on NPI efforts
  • Partner with Quality and Engineering on ISO, AS and NADCAP compliance initiatives, including internal audits and external audit preparation
  • Work with purchasing and outside vendors to drive cost improvements regarding department supplies and inventory management
  • All other duties assigned

Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Process Engineering role is responsible for process work instructions, techniques, safety improvements, productivity enhancements, and quality adherence. The role is instrumental with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process and process capability improvements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Utilize continuous improvement methodologies to identify opportunities and improve department performance regarding Safety, Quality, and Productivity

This position is expected to back up department supervisor as needed. In addition, program management skills are essential to success.
