Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer for our George, Western Cape operations. You will evaluate existing processes, drive lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and implement best practices to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality. The role involves leading Kaizen events and documenting new workflows.

You will map processes, develop SOPs, and train staff while tracking KPIs to ensure sustained improvements across manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Improvement Engineer to join their expanding operations in George . This role is integral to refining and enhancing our manufacturing and operational processes to achieve greater efficiency, reduced waste, and improved product quality. You will be responsible for evaluating current systems, identifying opportunities for optimization using data-driven approaches, and leading the implementation of best practices. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze existing operational processes within the George facility to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, focusing on lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects from conception to completion.
• Design and document new process flows, SOPs, and work instructions to ensure consistency and efficiency.
• Train operational staff on new processes and best practices, fostering a culture of quality and efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process efficiency, cost reduction, and quality output.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, or operations management.
• Solid understanding and practical application of Six Sigma tools and methodologies (Green Belt certification preferred).
• Proficiency in data analysis and process mapping software (e.g., Visio, AutoCAD).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and change management skills.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is essential.
