Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Houston, Texas, seeks a Process Improvement Engineer to drive process optimization across our chemical plant operations. You will lead efficiency projects, collaborate with Center of Excellence, and deliver sustainable solutions.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 3+ years in chemical plant engineering, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred. Excellent communication and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineer within a chemical plant.
  • Proven record of leveraging technology and process optimization.
  • Vision for establishing and maximizing value from process optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and goals.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts and tools.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels and departments at the site.
  • Strong planning, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong influencing ability.
  • Self-Driven and goal oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Possess in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets help to establish credibility with the operations team.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities (gap closure / project scope definition) for the unit and serve in specific project related roles of manufacturing representative through FEL Design.
  • Partner with the experts (Center of Excellence, Operations, EH&S) to develop project scope / gap closure plans that support the business objectives.
  • Analyze production loss accounting data and develop and prioritize a list of improved process opportunities.
  • Champion process safety activities in project design. Partners with operations to ensure a robust, safe manufacturing process.
  • Ensure implementation of the most effective technology in the project by integrating operability input from operations, corporate and business MET, and Maintenance and Reliability inputs into definition and design.
  • Carry accountability for the technical integrity and operability of the units they support.
  • Ensure effective interface between the manufacturing representative and plant operations to ensure technical integrity and optimum operability.
  • Provide effective communication and coordination between project team and Operations.
  • Support project FEL as required.
  • Lead person for all new plant product trials.

How You'll Make an Impact

As a ProcessImprovement Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by implementing process and technologyimprovement opportunities within their technology area. This includes leading the team that evaluates improvements from the opportunity list for possible implementation.Work with the technology experts (Center of Excellence) to collect data required to complete scope definition for improvement projects and activities. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. In this role, you will:
