Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, NJ, seeks a Specialist – Process/Facility Engineer for the MACS Operations Team. You will help design, commission, qualify, and startup a new potent, multi-modality drug substance facility planned for Rahway with a 2027 target.

You will collaborate with development engineers, chemists, QA, and safety to ensure compliant, scalable manufacturing processes and rigorous tech transfer to commercial sites, enabling speed and flexibility in the pipeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related scientific field with minimum of 3 years relevant experience, or
• Master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Support MACS Center process development and scale-up activities.
• Assist with GMP facility design, equipment start-up and qualification.
• Contribute to process development for small and large molecule drug substances.
• Support investigations and change management.
• Ensure compliance with US/EU GMP and safety regulations.
• Prepare SOPs and cGMP documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, chemists, QA, and safety teams.
• Drive reliable facility operation and data integrity.
