Clariant SE is seeking a Process Excellence Engineer to lead project execution across operations in the Care Chemicals business unit. You will champion process improvements that deliver financial and non-financial value while upholding safety standards.

Your role includes supporting production plants, leveraging MES, PI, TrendMiner, and PowerBI to optimize performance and ensure reliable, safe operations. Collaborate with global centers and train operators on new processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or chemical industry (chemical processing experience preferred).
• Knowledge of DCS systems (desired).
• Project management experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and/or statistical analysis (desired).

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for production plants – troubleshooting and resolving recurring process upsets.
• Identify opportunities and lead implementation of systems and procedures to optimize performance (MES, PI, TrendMiner, PowerBI).
• Analyze OEE/UEE data to identify reliability and capacity improvements.
• Provide technical expertise in process safety, including support for PSM audits and PHAs.
• Collaborate with other Clariant process areas and train operators and supervisors.
• Strive to implement up-to-date, efficient technologies, with emphasis on automation.
• Support CAPEX projects from scoping to MOCs and commissioning activities.
• Identify and lead sustainability and environmental initiatives in projects.
• Support commercialization of new products including cost estimation and capacity reviews.

Job description

We are looking for a Process Excellence Engineer to join our Care Chemicals business unit, where you will play a key role in leading project execution across all areas of our operations. In this position, you will champion process improvement initiatives that deliver both financial and non-financial value while upholding the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for the production plants – troubleshooting and resolving recurring process and production upsets
• Identify opportunities and lead the implementation of systems and procedures that optimize performance, leveraging tools such as MES, PI, Trendminer, and PowerBI
• Analyze OEE/UEE data to identify reliability and capacity improvement opportunities
• Provide technical expertise in process safety, including support for PSM audits and Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)
• Collaborate and share know-how and experience with other Clariant process areas, including Global Competence Centers, and train operators and supervisors on existing and new processes/procedures
• Strive to implement the most up-to-date and efficient technologies, with an emphasis on automation
• Support CAPEX projects by contributing process expertise – from defining scopes and leading Management of Changes (MOCs) to supporting commissioning activities
• Identify and lead sustainability and environmental initiatives as part of project execution
• Support the successful commercialization of new products, including cost estimation, product portfolio capacity reviews, and new production introductions

Requirements
