Job summary

Clariant is seeking a Production Engineer, Catalyst to support our PPCAT facility in Louisville, KY. You will manage production line performance and provide technical expertise to improve process reliability, product quality, cost efficiency, and environmental, safety, and health performance.

Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, you will collaborate with plant teams to solve operational challenges, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of production or process-improvement experience; catalyst experience not required.
  • Understanding of chemical processing equipment (pumps, filters, distillation columns, dryers); controls systems experience a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and advanced computer skills.
  • US work authorization now or in the future; no sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

  • Support daily performance of production lines; troubleshoot process/equipment with operations to ensure safe, reliable production.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and Clariant policies; participate in risk assessments and corrective actions.
  • Initiate and evaluate process/product modifications via MOC; support trials and investment projects.
  • Improve FPQ, address process abnormalities, support investigations and corrective actions for quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and operating procedures; train operators on procedures and changes.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement to enhance production performance, cost efficiency, quality, safety, and environment.
  • Apply Clariant Excellence and Lean Six Sigma to track KPIs and implement improvements.
  • Champion plant management systems and ISO standards; reinforce SOPs.

Clariant is seeking a Production Engineer, Catalyst to support our PPCAT facility in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will manage production line performance and provide technical expertise to improve process reliability, product quality, cost efficiency, and environmental, safety, and health performance. Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, you will collaborate with plant teams to solve operational challenges, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily performance of assigned production lines, troubleshooting process and equipment issues with operations teams to maintain safe, reliable production.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Clariant policies; lead or participate in risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
  • Initiate and evaluate process and product modifications through the Management of Change (MOC) process, supporting trials and investment projects.
  • Improve First Pass Quality (FPQ), address process abnormalities, and support investigations and corrective actions related to customer quality concerns.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and operating procedures; support operator training on procedures and process changes.
  • Lead collaborative improvement efforts to strengthen production performance, cost efficiency, quality, safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection.
  • Apply Clariant Excellence and Lean Six Sigma tools to track performance indicators and implement measurable process improvements.
  • Champion plant management systems, including applicable ISO standards, and reinforce consistent use of established operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
  • More than two years of production and/or process improvement experience, including hands-on implementation of improvements in chemical manufacturing; catalyst experience is not required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of chemical processing equipment, including pumps, filters, distillation columns, and dryers; controls systems experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to navigate differing perspectives and build productive relationships; knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and advanced computer skills.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future; sponsorship is not available for this position.
