Micross Apopka, Florida seeks a Process Engineering Manager to lead and grow the engineering teams, developing production processes for high‑reliability assemblies for space, commercial, and military markets.

You will review, update SPC documentation, and drive process improvements while partnering with the CTO to ensure quality and on‑time delivery.

Process Engineering Mgr

Apopka, FL, US

We are seeking a Process Engineering Manager for our Micross Apopka, Florida location. As the Process Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop the Micross Apopka engineering teams to develop documentation, qualify, and implement production processes that will support the manufacture of high reliability assemblies for use in the space, commercial and military markets. The Process Team will play an active role in the design of complex assemblies and establish stable manufacturing processes during prototype and development phases releasing documented and established procedures to production. Review, develop, and update statistical process control methods and related documentation, working within the limits of established policies.

  • Lead and oversee engineering departments and develop strategic plans and processes to ensure that departments operate and meet their performance goals in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that department designs the highest quality solutions within defined specifications on time and within budget.
  • Devise a close working partnership with the Company's CTO
  • Chair qualification plan development; design reviews and working with Quality and DLA for new product development.
  • Actively coordinate with the Program Management, Assembly and Operations teams in ensuring the delivery of critical programs on time and to budget.
  • Lead process technology transfers from Process Engineering department to Manufacturing department.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing products.
  • Prepare, analyse and review customer and internal technical reports.
  • Ensure that staffing levels are sufficient. Take a lead role (in conjunction with the management and HR Manager) in the recruiting, development and retention of engineers, including the development of a formal university intern program.
  • Establish processes to ensure that direct reports and respective employees receive appropriate direction, training, development and motivation, supervision, and appraisal of performance so goals are met in the most productive and effective manner.
  • Stay abreast of best practices and technologies and provide input on new processes to enhance or expand capabilities.
  • Essential asset to Design Engineering team regarding process capabilities, materials, and review new products to ensure they meet Design for Manufacturing (DFM) criteria.
  • Identify, facilitate, and prioritize opportunities for process improvements.
  • Foster the culture of teamwork, continuous improvement and support the empowerment of teams.
  • Address any performance issues quickly, leveraging the formal review processes as required.
  • Oversee salary and performance appraisal administration; allocate pool and ensure that distribution is equitable.
  • Generate annual Research and Development program goals in coordination with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that drive efficient performance.
  • Prepare, monitor, and adhere to annual operating and capital equipment budgets.

Job Qualifications:

  • BSME or 10-15 years of combined education and experience
  • 10 - 15 years of related manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of MIL, IPC, and, J-STD workmanship, qualification and performance standards related to electronic assemblies (Mil-PRF-38534/5, IPC-610, J-STD-001, AS9100, etc.).
  • CAD, Solid works software courses, and/or experience.
  • Working knowledge of 5S, SPC, and, lean manufacturing practices.
  • Due to export control rules, must be a US citizen or a Green Card Holder
