Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years in Process/Manufacturing Engineering in electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, specifications, and assembly documentation.

Job description

Our client, a U.S.-based, high-reliability electronics manufacturer working on sophisticated products for aerospace, defense, space, medical device and industrial customers is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes for complex electronic products. This position serves as a key connection between Engineering and Manufacturing, translating engineering requirements and product documentation into practical, repeatable workflows for production.

Day To Day
  • Review engineering drawings, bills of material, manufacturing data, assembly documentation, specifications, and related technical information.
  • Develop detailed manufacturing work instructions and process documentation for electronic assembly and related production operations.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing process flows and routings for new product introductions.
  • Participate in NPI activities and help establish manufacturing strategies for new products.
  • Translate engineering and customer requirements into efficient production workflows.
  • Identify manufacturing risks and recommend improvements before products enter production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Test, Production, and Program Management teams.
  • Create clear visual work instructions using photographs, drawings, diagrams, and other illustrations.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation meets applicable customer, industry, and internal quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on quality, efficiency, cost, and defect reduction.
  • Maintain process documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support engineering and document changes, revisions, and production updates.
  • Assist with root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Provide technical support to production personnel during product launches and ongoing manufacturing.
What We Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar experience within electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, BOMs, specifications, assembly documentation, and industry standards.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and quality systems applicable to electronics manufacturing.
  • Understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of SMT and through-hole manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with soldering, inspection, coating, and electronic test processes.
  • Experience working in quality-focused, regulated, or high-reliability manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production and quality documentation and convert technical information into clear manufacturing instructions.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering, process planning, or manufacturing execution software.
  • Familiarity with PCB manufacturing data formats and process-planning tools.
  • Experience with manufacturing software, ERP/MES platforms, or electronic documentation systems.
  • Knowledge of automated inspection and test processes, including AOI, SPI, ICT, flying probe, and functional testing.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with process development for complex or high-reliability electronic products.
