Job summary

Primient is offering a Process Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 in the United States. You will join a manufacturing environment to apply chemical engineering principles and support process optimization, safety initiatives, and continuous improvement alongside experienced engineers.

You will gain hands-on experience with lab-scale and plant-scale testing, data analysis, and documentation updates while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Rising sophomore, junior, senior, or master's student with anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029.
• Fundamental understanding of chemical engineering principles, including material and energy balances, fluid flow, heat transfer, and reaction processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data.
• Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to ask questions, share ideas, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Able to work effectively in both independent and team environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lab-scale and plant-scale testing to evaluate and improve chemical process performance.
• Analyze process data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability.
• Support optimization of unit operations such as mixing, filtration, heat transfer, crystallization, and separation processes.
• Assist with updating process documentation, including Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), standard operating procedures, and engineering specifications.
• Partner with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement continuous improvement solutions.
• Participate in safety initiatives and help identify opportunities to improve plant safety and environmental performance.
• Gain exposure to process design concepts, equipment operation, and manufacturing best practices within a chemical processing environment.
