Job summary

Aerostar in Sioux Falls, SD invites a college student to join as a summer intern in manufacturing and electronics. The role focuses on supporting high altitude balloon projects and related tasks, working closely with a mentor to complete assigned disciplines.

You will provide periodic updates to managers, deliver a final internship presentation, and participate in learning and improving the division's ISO-compliant quality system. Flexibility and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• College student pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, without close supervision.
• Problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify waste and creatively look for solutions.
• Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
• Capacity to be flexible and multitask.
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Support high altitude balloon and electronics manufacturing.
• Complete projects as assigned within internship discipline.
• Work closely with assigned mentor and manager to reach a successful completion of internship.
• Provide periodic updates to managers and peers on assigned project(s).
• Complete summer end internship presentation.
• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
• Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
