Job summary

Delek US Holdings is seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support refinery initiatives with emphasis on design, optimization, and operation of complex chemical processes. The role includes field work and documentation of findings, as well as participation on various committees.

The position provides exposure to safety, process simulation, and cross-functional teamwork, with opportunities to track and justify projects for training experience and career growth.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing BS or MS in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Availability to work at least 40 hours per week.
• Basic knowledge of industrial equipment.
• Familiarity with SDS and safety protocols in a mechanical environment.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to record and present data clearly.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness for continual learning and self-development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly working environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and determine root causes and take corrective action.
• Participate in technical investigations, design, and analysis of equipment performance.
• Develop, select, and test equipment and components to evaluate best-in-class technology.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineers on problem solving.
• Oversee equipment to generate critical equipment lists and update P&IDs.
• Plan, design, and write specifications for process equipment.
• Work independently and with cross-functional teams to improve supply chain performance.
