Job summary

MLC is seeking a Process Engineering Co-Op to gain real-world experience contributing to plant performance and safety. You will develop critical skills in process optimization, data analysis, and root cause investigations, while supporting capital projects and safety initiatives.

You’ll work with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams in a heavy industrial environment, applying analytical thinking and problem-solving to drive reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Sophomore standing or higher pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze production, quality, and operational data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Assist with engineering calculations, process evaluations, and performance studies.
• Participate in troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis investigations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
• Assist with capital and plant improvement projects, including field inspections and startup activities.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to support plant objectives.
• Participate in plant trials and evaluate results to support data-driven decision making.
• Develop reports, recommendations, and presentations for engineering and plant leadership.
