Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Mechanical Process Engineer to identify equipment, tooling, and processes for manufacturing specialty copper and fiber optic cables. The role plans process development, maintains specs, and troubleshoots across shifts to ensure consistent performance.

Responsibilities include designing tools, coordinating experimental production, creating manufacturing instructions, and leading corrective actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering, preference for Wire and Cable industry.
Must be able to accurately distinguish colors.

Responsibilities

Develop and improve overall process related issues.
Design and maintenance of tools and dies.
Equipment and compound troubleshooting.
Coordinate assigned XP’s products.
Develop and maintain technical manufacturing instructions (T.M.’s).
Develop and maintain work instructions and procedures.
Coordinate and communicate critical processing information to manufacturing personnel.
Perform Root Cause Analysis studies for high visibility non-conformances.
Assist as required in operator training.
Coordinate the process manufacture of assigned technical orders.
Coordinate assigned capital appropriation (CA) projects.
Provide accurate and timely responses to corrective action requests.
Provide input to product costing.
Liaise with vendors to stay updated on materials and processes.
