Job summary

InventWood is hiring an entry-level Process Engineer to monitor and improve throughput and quality on our production line as we scale. This on-site role focuses on understanding the existing process, running trials, and turning observations into actionable engineering knowledge.

Based in Frederick, MD, you will setup and evaluate production trials, collect data, and collaborate with operators, manufacturing engineering, and R&D to implement process improvements and SPC dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a hard science; internships or senior project in process/manufacturing accepted.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in process monitoring, DoE, or hands-on testing.
• Data handling capabilities: pull, clean, and interpret production data to draw conclusions.
• Structured problem-solving approach with hypotheses and data-driven testing.
• Strong written communication; on-site production floor experience preferred.
• Willingness to be on the production floor regularly; on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the production process day to day and flag deviations.
• Design, set up, and run production trials to test changes or troubleshoot.
• Evaluate trial results and provide clear go/no-go recommendations.
• Document findings, protocols, and outcomes for knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with operators, manufacturing engineering, and R&D to translate learnings into improvements.
• Help build data collection and monitoring tools (SPC charts, dashboards).
