Job summary

Johnson Matthey seeks a Process Engineer to design, specify, and implement materials processes across multiple product lines. You will drive process improvements, reduce costs, and enhance product quality while interfacing with Operations, Quality Assurance, and Scheduling on a daily basis.

The role emphasizes developing parameters, monitoring controls, supporting manufacturing operations, and training hourly staff to operate equipment in alignment with sales and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering or related field.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of metal forming processes for tubes, wire and sheet is a plus.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Problem Solving, and Continuous Improvement.
• Ability to communicate passionately about the process and impact on culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop material and processing parameters to meet end-customer specifications.
• Improve process efficiencies and metal working margins in assigned production areas.
• Establish improved process monitoring and control for consistent quality product.
• Provide technical support for ongoing manufacturing operations within area of responsibility.
• Design, specify and implement materials and processes for the product areas assigned.
• Develop and trial new processes to enable manufacturing of products as requested by sales team.
• Train hourly workforce to properly operate equipment and produce products in selected areas.
• Provide technical input into process hazard studies, capital projects, and incident investigations.
