Job summary

CertainTeed in Oxford, NC seeks a Process Engineer to refine and optimize roofing manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency, reliability, and quality. You will apply SPC, DOE and Lean methods to reduce variation, improve yields, and support continuous improvement across the operation.

Work with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, deploy CAPA, and drive process capability. Strong collaboration and project management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering or related technical field (Required).
• 2-3+ Years Manufacturing or Process Engineering (Required).
• 1+ Years Experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment (Required).
• Roofing, building materials manufacturing experience (Preferred).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and project management skills.
• Proficient in statistical tools, and data-driven problem solving.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data and apply SPC, DOE, and other statistical tools to identify and eliminate process variation.
• Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through startup and stabilization.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues, implement CAPA, and improve process capability.
• Conduct process flow studies and system simulations to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Provide clear process documentation, operating instructions, and training to hourly and salaried teammates.
• Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM initiatives to drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and throughput gains.
• Collaborate with Engineering teams on capital projects that increase production efficiency.
